Dorothy May McGuin

Dorothy M. McGuin (Lacy) passed away at the age of 82 on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. She was the kindest, most welcoming person anyone would be fortunate enough to know. A wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and she was blessed with a very large one. She was the mother of 6 children: Vicky Campbell (Kenneth) – both predeceased, Tracey Becerra (Peter predeceased), Kimberely Hart (William), Tuesdee Luce (Dan), Stephanie Hyde (George) and Ray McGuin. Predeceased parents Vernon and Florence Lacy. Survived by sister Nancy Williams (Robert) and predeceased siblings “Buddy” Furcher (Rosemary[living]), Imatia Ortez (Julie[living]), and Patricia Howell (Joseph). Predeceased ex-husband Wilfred R. McGuin (Joanne[living]). Grandmother to 18 grandchildren: Christopher McGuin (Jana), Kelly Campbell, Shannon Cunningham (Daniel), Stephani Becerra, Ashley Bruff, Matthew Becerra, Brittanie McGuin, Brandee Anthony, Sarah Jackson (Stephen), Ben McGuin, Lauren Becerra, George Hyde Jr., Grayson Luce, Kyle Becerra, Kayde Hart, Alexis Luce, Colby Campbell, Taryn Becerra and 11 great-grandchildren.

She worked hard for 60+ years, loved to play Bingo and go to Red Lobster every birthday. Later in life, she enjoyed her Pugs (Mallory-predeceased and Rocky), watching birds, tending her garden, spending time with family and friends and holding her littlest of great grandkids whenever she was given the chance.

Her son Ray became her confidant and caregiver for the last 13+ years of her life which enabled her to remain at home and live a longer, happier life. We are forever grateful to our brother.

She will be deeply, deeply missed and will remain forever in our hearts.

Service will be held on January 20th at the National Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA 22042. Visitation from 1pm – 2pm and service from 2pm – 3pm. Burial will follow the service at the Memorial Park at the same location. For those that cannot attend in person, service will also be live streamed and can be accessed through the Funeral Home website at dignitymemorial.com.
