

Edward L.R. Dodson Sr., 70 of Fredericksburg, Va, passed away on May 19, 2017 at Fairfax Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 2, 1947, in Fauquier County, the son of the late Harrison and Elsie Colbert.
Edward served as a Building Supervisor for Fairfax County Public Schools for over 20 years and his first job was at Buswell & Bennett for many years before the County. He served in the military during the Vietnam War, and after his service he married Frances M Porter his high school sweetheart. He retired in 2008.
Edward was baptized and joined Scripture Church of Christ, Falls Church, Va in 1985.
He was married to Frances Dodson for over 50 years. Throughout all those years they were still madly in love with each other until the day he died.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his loving wife Frances; brothers William Colbert in Leesburg, Va, Charles (Timmy) Dodson; daughters Nina Dodson in Lorton, Va and Tina Robinson-Kandill in Centreville, Va; son Edward Dodson, Jr. in Brandywine, Md; granddaughters Tiana Dodson in Centreville, Va, Lakeisha Hill in Alexandria, Va, Addison Worley in Brandywine, Md, Harrison Worley in Brandywine, Md, and Ryahn Robinson in Centreville, Va; grandsons Marquet Dodson in Centreville, Va, Juan J. Granados-Dodson in Alexandria, Va, Juan L. Granados-Dodson in Lorton, Va, and Andre Moore in Washington DC; and great grand children Kamir Hill, Kaden Steele, Zyla Steele, Aaron Andre, Aniyah Andre, Rudolph (Junior) Steele, Kymani Dodson-Williams and Summer Dodson. A host of loving family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Edward was predeceased by his sister Velma White, mother Elsie Colbert and father Harrison Colbert.
