Betsy Barnes, of Oakton, VA, passed suddenly on March 12, 2013. She leaves a husband, with whom she recently celebrated 50 years of marriage, their two children and respective spouses, as well as four grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.
As a teacher at Oakton Elementary School for 33 years, Betsy taught over 1,000 students, helping to shape the future of many of our community's leaders. She also created a special family home in the mountains which built a unique bond between family and friends that will never be forgotten. She was taken from us far ahead of her time and will be deeply missed.
Betsy's memory will be honored at a visitation with her family today, Friday, March 15, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 11 a.m. Both services will be held at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA 22180. Interment will be at National Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, March 16 at 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association to represent the value she placed in their mission. Online guestbook is available at: moneyandking.com.
