Ethel Lenora Sansalone

Ethel Lenora Sansalone (Age 81) went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2016 after a four year struggle with Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia. Born May 7, 1935 in Wash., DC, Ethel grew up in Arlington, VA surrounded by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was loved immeasurably by her husband of 64 years, Vincent M. Sansalone. They were married on October 17, 1952 in Annapolis, MD. Ethel was predeceased by her parents, Carroll A. Smith and Margaret E. Smith Hall; her brother, C.W. Smith; and her youngest son, Andrew. She is remembered with great love by her children: Danny, Cheryl (& David) Ford, Marty (& Danielle); by her grandchildren: Aaron (Rebecca), Justin (Brook), Rebekah, Melanie and Missy Ford; Chris, Jenni, Dylan and Emily Sansalone; five great-grandchildren; and by her siblings: Joe (& Mary Ann) Smith and Mary (& Tommy) Jacobs.

Ethel found great joy in encouraging others in word and deed; teaching ladies Bible studies and working with children’s ministries at her church; and visiting those who were elderly, sick, or in need of friendship. She loved cooking, baking, drawing, painting, and going to Colonial Beach with her cousins.

Her Memorial Service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 301 Center Street, Vienna, VA, on Sat., Oct. 1, 2016. Visitation from 1:00-1:45 pm at the church, Memorial Service following from 1:45-2:45 pm. Interment at National Memorial Park, 4927 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA.
