It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of our Father Frederick Avery Gray, aged 81, of Falls Church, Virginia. He passed away quietly in his sleep, at home, on the morning of August 4th.
Dad was first and foremost a husband, father and granddad. He spent 54 years married to the love of his life, Mary Gail Shaffer, GG, who sadly passed in 2017. Was the proud father of Casey, who passed away in 2018, Jodie and Shannon. The proud grandfather to granddaughters Brandy, Brianna, Maya, Shelby, Kylie, Brooklyn and Riley. And great-grandfather to Ryan Hadlee.
He started working at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. as a teenager and retired after 28 years as the Chief Engineer. He then went on to work for Ogden Allied. Supporting US Embassies around the world, retiring in 2005.
He loved his family, the numerous people who called and thought of him as Dad, racing, baseball, a cold beer at the end of the day.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14th, at National Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home located at 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA, 22042 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
