Georgia Osborne Wilhite (Osborne), 101, of Falls Church Virginia, passed away at Burke Health and Rehabilitation on May 19, 2022. Georgia was born on May 24, 1920 in Florence, South Carolina to Retha and Wilkes Osborne. She married Billy Ray Wilhite on April 2, 1954 in Washington DC. Georgia worked for the US Government after finishing secretarial school. She joined her husband in Greece where their son, Mark was born. They returned to the United States in 1962 and purchased a home on Roswell Court where she lived until her death. Georgia enjoyed working in real estate with Ruth LoBianca for many years. She loved playing bridge, watching westerns, John Wayne and playing the slot machines. She was a member of Graham Road United Methodist Church and President of Church Women United for the local area. Georgia is pre-deceased by both her parents, her sister, Edna Sansbury, her husband, Billy Ray Wilhite and niece, Georgia Lucille Byrnes. Georgia is survived by her only son, Mark Osborne Wilhite (wife Rosemary, nee Jenks), grandson, Kyle Osborne Wilhite, PhD (Jessica Hemingway) and granddaughter Shannon Murphy Lewis, BSN (husband Nick). She is also survived by her niece, Louise Richardson (Henry) and nephews Larry Wilson (Jan) and Russell Sansbury (Tina). She also leaves behind many second nieces and nephews. She was excited about the upcoming birth of her first great grandchild in July. Services will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Visitation will be from 10:30am-11:30am, Funeral Services from 11:30am – 12:30pm and Burial at 1pm at National Cemetery on Lee Highway. There will also be a livestream of the funeral service available. Special thanks to Bob Jenks for his unending friendship and support, Libby Burkhardt for being her loving friend for over 59 years and to John and Alice Shaw, her wonderful neighbors who made her life a bit easier. “To live in the hearts of others, is to never die”.
