Greg was talented and very knowledgeable. He was a curious individual who read constantly about pretty much any subject that caught his eye. He became interested in carpentry at a young age while helping his father, Jim, build “the cabin” in West Virginia near Berkeley Springs. The rest he taught himself as he did with computers and the guitar. He put his self-taught knowledge of computers to work when he wrote several programs, one of which enabled a specialized saw to cut wood to precise dimensions. Playing the guitar was a joy for Greg, and he continued playing well into his illness.
Pictures of Greg when he was a little boy always show him with one eye closed and it was finally figured out that he did it because he saw that the person behind the camera close one of their eyes and thought that’s what everyone did when a picture was taken. Greg was especially close to his mother, Lenora, until her death in 2015. When he lived in Connecticut they often watched television shows together while on the phone long distance. Even at the later stages of his illness his face would light up when his brother Hal came to visit.
Greg is survived by his brother, Hal and his wife Barbara, and his niece, Becca. Greg is missed and will always be loved!
