

On June 15, 2022 James (Jim) Edward Marshall, passed away at the age of 81. Jim was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Thomas Edward (Eddie) and Mabel Marshall. He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy of 38 years, his daughters Amy L. Audlin (David), Valerie N. Soule (Jamey), Melody J. Bell (Simuel) and Cynthia D. Wilson (Darren) as well as grandchildren Hunter James Audlin, Andre Yates III, Destiny Yates, Andrea Bell, Simuel (Simmy) Marshall Bell, Tyra Bell, Alysa Bell, Joshua Wilson, Jeremiah Wilson and James Nicholas Wilson.
In 1958, Jim began employment with the Social Security Administration (SSA) where he worked until his retirement on April 30th, 2017. During this employment, Jim was an active Union professional and held the elected position of President of AFGE Council 215 for 35 years. Jim was committed to providing advice, assistance and representing his fellow co-workers and employees throughout the country in all types of work related matters. He did this without fanfare but with sincerity as to improving employees working conditions and protecting employees' rights.
A viewing is scheduled Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042. Reception follows.
