

Jane was born in Elkins, WV to Claude Leon Layfayette Gaujot and Eula Warwick Gaujot on August 8, 1937. After finishing high school in Virginia, she worked at the Library of Congress. She married the love of her life, John L. Busby on April 16, 1960 and was married for 49 years when she was widowed in 2009.
Jane is remembered for her love for family, church and her Lord Jesus Christ. She was an incredible cook and most enjoyed gatherings with family and friends where she could exemplify her love for them through preparing and serving delicious food. She was a fashion enthusiast, dressing with style and class and had a love for gardening. Jane had a competitive side to her as a fine card player and taught her grandchildren at young ages card games which she loved playing with them. She was a devoted wife, mother, Mimi and Great-Grandmama.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents Claude L.L. and Eula Gaujot, husband John L. Busby, brother Claude Gaujot, sisters Muriel Fowler and Constance Wamsley and son-in-law Ron Sutton.
Jane is survived by Children: Kimberly Formosa (Jeff), Bob Busby (Kim), Lisa Sutton and Susan Stewart (Greg); Siblings: Phyllis Ann Rogers, Phil Gaujot (Carol) and Diana Sue Murphy (Bill); Grandchildren: John Eric Formosa, Jamie Bajwa (JJ), Brooke Busby, Jason Busby, Caroline Sutton, Natalie Sutton, Ryan Stewart (Katie) and Reid Stewart (Rachel); Great-Grandchildren: Hailey Formosa, Alana Formosa, Gianna Bajwa, Aliyah Bajwa and Scarlett Stewart.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 2pm at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 128 St. Mary’s Church Road, Abingdon, MD 21009 and will be livestreamed on www.youtube.com/@ncpcabingdonmd516
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. at National Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042 with Dr. David Barker, Pastor officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jane may be sent to New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 128 St. Mary’s Church Road, Abingdon, MD 21009.
