Janet graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1958 and American University in 1962. She settled in Manassas, Virginia, where she worked as a Medical Technologist in various hospitals. Over the years she was active in local political organizations (she loved a good debate)! She loved to cook and bake her famous brownies that would always find a way into some ones house in a times of need. She was a gifted hand-quilter and her quilts were often displayed in local quilt shows. All of her quilts were meticulously sewn by hand and many of them found their way into various homes of friends and family. She used the same silver thimble for 50 plus years. Janet would always be seen walking around Manassas making her daily trek of 2 to 3 miles to pick up her groceries and do her daily errands. People would always drive by her and ask if she needed a ride but always gave the same answer. “I am getting my daily exercise”. Even when the roads were covered with snow she had to get outside.
Janet never lost her love for the beach and the sand sifting through her toes and often took frequent trips to visit the beaches of her old hometown Atlantic City, NJ. She always returned to her roots.
