Jean Lyons, 94, of Fairfax, Virginia, died peacefully in her home on February 27, 2018. Born April 16, 1923 in Fairfax, VA, she is predeceased by her parents, John R and Viola (Blevins) Payne and her husband, Raymond Francis Lyons.
Jean, also known as “Mama Jean” by her family and friends, led a long and wonderful life. She often spoke fondly of growing up in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC, however spent most of her life on Popes Head Road in Fairfax, VA.
Survivors include her three daughters, Linda Coughlin of Birdsnest, VA; Patti Tankersley (husband, Butch) of Lemoore, CA; and Debbi Fitzgerald of Fairfax, VA; and one son Dennis (wife, Diana) Lyons of Springfield, VA; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and one nephew.
