On Monday, February 22, 2021 Jeannette C. Hubbard entered eternal rest at the age of 101 in Norfolk, VA after complications from COVID19
Jeannette was born in Kittson, Minn. to Lucille and Wilhelm Johnson on May 14, 1919. After graduating from Central High School in 1939, she earned a degree from The Corcoran School of Art and applied her artistic skills as a cartographer in the Department of the Interior, Army Map Service and later, the Defense Intelligence Agency. Her career with the US Government spanned 36 years.
Jeannette was a woman of faith who loved her family and was very involved in her church. In her free time, she enjoyed painting and gardening. She was a long-time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, David A. Hubbard, her sister, Betty Jane Studebaker and brother, Henry Walden Johnson.
Jeannette was the loving mother (and mother-in-law) of David A. Hubbard Jr (Maude), Carol E. Stabnow (Robert), Deborah A. Smith (Scott), Peter A. Hubbard, Lynn L. Beasman (Mark), and James C. Hubbard (Jacqueline); grandmother of Gary, Susan, Anna, Jennifer, Chris, Mark, Eric, Marie, Leia and Kyra; and great-grandmother of Madison, Clara, Meredith, Lilyann, Avaleigh and David.
Funeral services will be private. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to a church or charity of choice.
