A longtime Falls Church resident, died September 3, 2014. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Florence Murphy. Survived by her children Stephanie (Eric) and Matthew (Rian); grandsons Cole and James, and sister, Justine Baker. Karen was born in Albany, NY. She was a graduate of Virginia Tech and received a MS in Library Science from the University of Maryland. Friends may call at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad St, Falls Church on Friday, September 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. James Catholic Church, 905 Park Ave., Falls Church at 12 noon, Saturday, September 13.
