Kathleen was born to James Callahan and Helen (MacDonough) Callahan on November 7, 1941 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There, Kathleen met the love of her life, Dennis. They married on September 12, 1964 and soon after started a family, moving from Pennsylvania to Kansas City, Missouri to New Brunswick, New Jersey before finally landing in Mclean, Virginia in 1972. Kathleen and Dennis raised their family in McLean and moved to Reston, Virginia in 1997.
Kathleen was an active member of the community in McLean. She held the position of Vice President of the McLean Little League Women’s Auxiliary and volunteered in the Langley High School Career (College) Center for over 10 years. Kathleen was an avid gardener and could often be found in her carefully cultivated wildflower and fern garden. Her flower centerpieces were a staple at many parties and weddings over the years. Her grandchildren brought her the most joy as she and Dennis attended as many school and sporting events as they could. At any given time over the past 24 years, Kathleen could be found with at least one grandchild by her side, taking them to practices, appointments or back to her house for the best comfort food only a Nana could provide.
Kathleen is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dennis Bradshaw; her two daughters, Helena (Rusty) Stamper and Kasey (Matt Roland); her grandchildren, James Scott Stamper, Katie Stamper, Callahan Roland and Scott Patrick Roland; and her sister Patricia Callahan Locotos. She was preceded in death by her son, J. Scott Bradshaw.
