Kenneth Cooper Cartrette of Arlington, Virginia passed away on July 17, 2017 under Capital Caring Hospice after a brief illness. He was predeceased in death by his parents Kenneth Parker Cartrette and Velma (Cooper) Cartrette; and his companion of 20 years, Linda C. (Weeks) Denton. He is survived by several step children and step grandchildren. He also leaved behind many close friends.
Mr. Cartrette was born on June 6, 1940 in Conway Horry, South Carolina. He was honorable discharged from the United States Army Reserves on May 31, 1969. He retired from the United State Postal Service after more than 40 years of service in 2014. Mr. Cartrette was a train enthusiast and collector. He as a member of the Train Collectors Association.
Mr. Cartrette wanted his family and friends to remember him as they knew him and therefore insisted his illness not be shared. He has also requested no calling hours and no public services. He will be laid to rest at Quantico National Cemetery.
