Kenneth Edward Jones

Kenneth Edward Jones, 75 Kenneth E. Jones passed away on November 28, 2023, in Falls Church, Virginia, from complications of diabetes. Ken grew up in Johnson City, TN and is the son of the late Eugene Broyles Jones, Sr., and Della Ruth Tester. He is survived by his three brothers: Eugene Broyles Jones, Jr. (Joy) of Jacksonville, NC; Franklin Finley Jones (Anne) of Virginia Beach, VA; Robert Lawrence Jones (Debra) of Pawleys Island, SC and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Ken was a graduate from Science Hill High School. He graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and from University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Degree in Environmental Engineering. He retired after a 30-year engineering career with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Washington, DC. His area of expertise was reduction of unwanted noise levels generated by jet engines of commercial aircraft world-wide. Prior to the FAA, he worked as an Environmental Engineer with the Federal Highway Administration. Ken had a lifelong interest in his family’s genealogy and area history. He spent countless hours at the ETSU library and other regional libraries combing through birth records, tracing a continuous line of descendants. A graveside memorial service will be held on December 26, 2023, at Monte Vista Memorial Park at 12 noon. All friends and family are welcome and appreciated.
