

Khoi Thuong Nguyen passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the age of 87. With family by his side, Mr. Nguyen died peacefully at his home in Annandale, Virginia. He followed his wife of 58 years to the eternal rest. A beloved husband of Mrs. Chot Bui, Mr. Nguyen is survived by his children - Vinh (Chay), Hien (Dung), Phuong (Jim), Thang (Beth), Son (Nhu), Canh (Nhung); 15 grandchildren; and his brother Toan (Hoang).
Mr. Nguyen was born in Hanoi, Vietnam on February 21, 1933 to the late Nguyen D. Mai and Truong T. Lien. He was oldest of four children. Prior to emigrating to America with his family, Mr. Nguyen had a successful career as a Policy Analyst for the government. Attributed to his success was his ability to speak English and French. He was a well-liked, always dapper gentleman who could easily garner the respect and admiration of those that he interacted with - a true "people" person. Mr. Nguyen and his family emigrated to America in 1975. Mr. Nguyen was a proud man who made the humble sacrifices needed to overcome the challenges of living in America as a refugee, so that his children could realize the American dream. He was truly blessed with a loving wife, the love of his children, and the attainment of the American dream. He inspired those that had the honor of knowing him to enjoy life and to live life well. He will be missed.
A viewing for friends and family will held on Tuesday, September 15 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the National Memorial Funeral Home (7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Martyrs of Vietnam Church (915 S. Wakefield Street, Arlington, VA 22204) on Wednesday, September 16 at 10 am. Interment is scheduled for 11:30 am at National Memorial Park (7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042). Lunch reception follows at the Nguyen's residence (5005 Regina Drive, Annandale, Virginia).
