Kirk Ernest Dematteis

Kirk E. DeMatteis, age 60, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Virginia Hospital Center after a short illness. For 19 years, he was the beloved husband of Hien (Phan Thi Minh) DeMatteis. Kirk was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on January 18, 1963, a son of John and Jeannine C. (Descheneaux) Dematteis. Kirk was a resident of Lowell for many years and served in the US Marine Corps in the 1980s.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a sprinkler fitter at North Star Fire Protection for many years. Kirk enjoyed watching sports games and spending time with family. His greatest joy was time spent with his wife and son.

Besides his loving wife Hien, he is survived by his son, Anthony DeMatteis. He was pre-deceased by his father, John Dematteis who passed away in 2023, and his brother, Eric DeMatteis who passed away in 2012. He also leaves his brother John DeMatteis and his wife, Julie of Westford; his sister, Denise O’Neill and her husband, Tom of Nashua, NH, also nephews, Ryan, Sean, and Michael DeMatteis.

Funeral Services will be held at Murphy Funeral Home from 10 - 12 PM on Monday, August 14, 2023, followed by church mass at St. James Catholic Church from 1 - 2 PM on the same day.
