Kristine Schlaman, 56, died January 20, 2012, following an illness with breast cancer. She was the wife of Lester Mardiks; mother of twin children Benny and Emily Mardiks; Kristine was born the daughter of Evelyn (Cortney) and the late Oscar Schlaman. She also leaves siblings Phillip, John, Jane Hennes, and Mary Sostarich, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Nancy, twin brother Kent, and Barbara Schlaman. Kristine was Sr. Tax Manager for KPMG, Washington National Tax over the past 15 years. Funeral Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 103 N. Spring St., Falls Church, VA. Burial will be private. Donations in Kristine's memory are suggested to American Cancer Society 124 Park St., SE, P.O. Box 699, Vienna, VA 22180.
