Larry R. Wright entered into eternal rest the evening of January 10, 2013. He was born in Rawlings, Virginia and later moved with his parents to Baltimore Maryland where he received his formal education.
Larry was a graduate of Morgan State University (formerly Morgan State College) and the Wharton School of Business. He traveled extensively living in Paris France, San Francisco, California and most recently Hilton Head and Charleston, South Carolina.
Larry enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He had a penchant for the finer things and he shared that spirit with all who knew him. He gave much to the growth and development of disadvantaged children, volunteering for various organizations and providing free financial services. He spoke French and Spanish fluently, and was often found teaching others. Larry was progressive, liberal and independent.
Professionally, Larry was engaged in the business accounting industry and had been the CFO of the San Francisco Housing Authority. Most recently he was a business owner of an accounting firm. He was truly exceptional in many areas as exemplified by his achievements.
Larry loved music! He laughed a lot, danced a lot and enjoyed learning and experiencing new cultures. He also was stubborn as a mule!
His parents, Viola and Bruce Wright and two brothers, Eric and Wayne preceded him in death. He is survived by his spouse, Raul Torres; his sister Veronica; a special aunt, Margaret McCall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
We celebrate his life as spiritual and uplifting - he did it his way!
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to Larry's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - www.stjude.org
Time is too slow for those who wait,
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve,
Too short for those who rejoice,
But for those who love,
Time is eternity.
