Lawrence was born in New York City to Arthur and Rose Entis on May 18, 1945. He grew up in Morristown, New Jersey where he attended Morristown High School. He married Ellen on December 15, 1969 in New York. He graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and later received a law degree.
He spent his early career at Entis Food Products where he eventually became President. He later began his second career passing the New Jersey CPA exam and working for several decades as an accountant. He later moved to Virginia where he finished his career as the CFO of two companies Brown Technology Group and Infinity of Chantilly.
While still in New Jersey, he was an active leader at the Hebrew Academy of Morris County where he spent many years serving on the board of directors eventually holding the role of President.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ilene Shaffer.
Lawrence is survived by his wife Ellen, his children Ira, Joshua, and Stephanie and his grandchildren Andy, Kate, Thomas, Lily, and Alex.
The funeral will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, the family invites interested parties to donate in Lawrence’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
