Mr. Bhasker started his career with the Government of India. He was awarded a research scholarship to study Japanese in Tokyo by the Government of India in 1965. Subsequently he was posted as a diplomat in Tokyo to assist Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during her visit to Japan. During his tenure in Tokyo, he and his family had the great good fortune to meet and be with Maharaj Charan Singh Ji for five days. Since then he always met Maharaj Ji to get His blessings before he took any major decision in his life.
In1975 he was posted as Consular Officer in the Indian Embassy in Washington D.C. By nature, he was always cheerful and helpful and went out of his way to help anyone who came to the Indian Embassy. He loved Urdu poetry and enjoyed reciting it and sharing with the Indian community.
At the height of his diplomatic career, he took an early retirement to start his second career in the private sector. In 1997 he retired as a Director from American Society of Association Executives, an organization that helps associations to grow, excel, and achieve.
During his final farewell visit to New Delhi earlier this year, he made sure to visit some of his dear friends from his early days. He had a strong inner pull and a great desire to meet Baba Gurinder Singh Ji face to face. This desire of his was also fulfilled in March of this year. Since that meeting, he was prepared and ready to meet his maker.
