

Margaret L. Hanlon, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, May 3, 2015 after suffering complications of a stroke. Mrs. Hanlon is predeceased by her husband of 37 years, David Hanlon, who owned Hanlon Associates Realty in Arlington, Virginia for many years. She is survived by her two sons David Hanlon Jr. and his wife Karen of Chantilly, Virginia and Dr. Dennis Hanlon and his wife Susan of McMurray, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Hanlon is also survived by two daughters, Tracy Zampaglione and her husband Michael of Orlando, Florida and Maggi Keating and her husband Col. Peter Keating USMC (ret) of Falls Church, Virginia. She was an adoring “Nana” who leaves behind nine grandchildren—Andrew, Ellie, Devin, Scott, Michael, Katie, Brian, Jack and Nicolas. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Dunn and her husband Charlie of Cherry Hill, New Jersey as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Hanlon earned a degree in pharmacy from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and enjoyed a long and successful career as a pharmacist. She retired from Kaiser Permanente’s Falls Church Medical Center in 2011. Viewing will be Thursday, May 7 from 6 – 9 p.m. at Murphy’s Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street in Falls Church. A Catholic funeral mass will be Friday, May 8 at 1 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 905 Park Avenue in Falls Church. A private burial will be Saturday at Fairfax Memorial Park.
