

Born on November 13, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, to Sam and Ethel Dorfman, Marty spent his early years there before moving to Richmond as a teenager. After completing his degree at Virginia Commonwealth University, he relocated to Northern Virginia, where he built his professional life. He devoted more than 25 years to the Department of Defense as a financial manager for overseas schools, a role that reflected his strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and enduring commitment to public service.
Marty is survived by his wife of 57 years, Teri; his children, Scott and his wife, Ashleigh, and Elise and her husband, Matthew; and his beloved grandchildren, Lauren, Amanda, Kyra, Alexis, and Adler.
The family of Marty Dorfman extends their sincere gratitude to Dr. Michael Rearden, Dr. Michael Koerner, Michael Sesay, OJ Osmanjalloh, and Hawa Posseh for their compassionate care and support over the many years.
Funeral services will be held graveside at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25 at King David Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA. The service will be held outdoors; guests are encouraged to dress warmly. Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to gather at the Dorfman residence.
