

Mike was born in Dublin, Ireland to Lawrence Moran and Ursel Moran on July 25, 1951. He graduated from Fairfax High School in Fairfax, VA in 1970. He married Barbara Breeden on July 8, 1972.
In 1972, Mike started working as a pasteup artist at William Byrd Press. He left Byrd Press in 1990 and started working at the US Supreme as an IT specialist in the printing department. Mike retired from the Supreme Court in 2012.
Mike traveled with his family to multiple countries during his school age years. The family moved every two to three years due to his father’s job in the US foreign service. During this time, he enjoyed reading science fiction books and building and flying gas engine remote control airplanes. After graduating, he enjoyed backpacking and camping with his wife, Barb. Mike and Barb had a cabin shell built in WV and finished it themselves.They loved spending as much time as they could at the cabin.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ursel Moran; and his brother, Lynn Moran.
Mike is survived by his wife, Barbara Breeden Moran of Springfield, VA. and his sister, Christine Dakeman (Chris), of Charlottesville, VA.

A graveside service will be held on October 27 at 10:00am at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway. Falls Church, VA 22042.
