Mildred Flynn Schneider

Mrs. Mildred F. Schneider, age 91, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014, at her home in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was a devout Christian, and member of Boulevard Baptist Church in Falls Church, VA, and Grand Strand Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach.

Born November 2, 1922, in Loudoun County, VA, she lived with her parents there until she married in 1946 and moved to Falls Church. She was predeceased by her husband, George Thomas (Tom) Schneider; sister, Audrey Miley; granddaughter, Heather Grubb; daughter-in-law, Monica Schneider. Survivors include her children, Deborah Schneider, Carolyn Grubb, and Thomas Schneider; grandchildren, Ian Snyers, Michael Grubb, Jason Schneider, Matthew Schneider, and Jessica Bruce; great grandchildren, Joey Grubb, Tecota Schneider, and Abel Bruce; and one honorary great grandson, Luke Ennis.

Mildred worked for the Federal government and was a stay-at-home mom for several years while raising her children. She thoroughly enjoyed shopping for clothes and considered that her hobby. She was a character builder and instilled a strong work ethic in her children, teaching them to have good manners and to be respectful of others. After Mildred and her husband Tom retired, they spent time traveling, and enjoying their condo in Clearwater, FL.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Friday, August 22, 2014 at The United Baptist Church, 7100 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA 22003. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at 2:30PM at the National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA.
