Widowed at a very young age (42), Mrs. Le raised her children single-handedly, through many hardships and challenges, especially during the time after the fall of South Vietnam. She made sure that her children completed their education, grew up to be good people, and had a family of their own. She instilled values of perseverance, determination, and hard work in them at a very young age and taught them to live by these values. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. She loved her small garden of roses and were always proud of her traditional Vietnamese dishes. She adored her grandchildren and had helped raising them when they were young.
She was a strong, level-headed, and very determined person. She was well loved, admired, and respected among families and friends. After 91 years of shining bright, especially through dark and difficult times, her light dimmed and vanished on June 15th, 2024. The memories of our mom, however, will forever shine brightly through her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and everyone’s lives she has touched with her kindness, compassion, and generosity.
