Norman G. Sweeney, son of W.T. and Hildegarde Sweeney, passed away peacefully at home in Arlington on Saturday, November 29, surrounded by his loving family. He enlisted in the Army and served between 1966 and 1968. After graduating from the University of Virginia, Norm had a fulfilling 30-year career with the CIA serving both domestically and overseas. After retiring from government service, he worked as a contractor for 13 years before retiring in 2013. He will be remembered for his caring nature and dedication to friends and family. Norm is survived by his loving wife Maria Sweeney, son Tim Sweeney, daughter-in-law Kara Sweeney, grandson Liam Sweeney, brother W. Timothy Sweeney and sister Mary Jane Bowman. In keeping with Norman's wishes, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the American Cancer Society, P.O.
