in 1960 she emigrated to Falls Church, VA, USA. After her beloved husband Albert F. Borges, MD passed away in 1990 she moved to McLean, VA.
She volunteered at Treasure Trove (Inova Fairfax Hosp. Store). She enjoyed socializing with family and friends and her oil painting hobby.
Ofelia is survived by her children: Alicia Borges Betancourt (Roger R.), Silvia L. Borges, Ofelia Borges Fernandez (Emilio) and Alberto A. Borges, MD (Ana); 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; her sister Silvia Rojas, her brother Johnny Lopez-Ona (Josefina), and many nieces and nephews. Her sister Maria Teresa Blattner predeceased her in 1953.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Puente de Amistad, 3434 Blair Road, Falls Church, VA 22041. A private celebration of life with occur.
