Sad news indeed 
Dr Palani was like a pilar of professionalism, competence and compassion for a long  time for sentara hospital. 
 Every time discussing with him radiology report  was so reassuring whether reports involved our own family or our patients.
God Bless him and give him the best place in heaven and peace and patience to his family, friends, and colleagues.
He will be missed for ever.

All of the doctors at Potomac Hospital, now Sentara Hospital, have never worked with a more gentle, approachable, compassionate and reasonable physician who went well beyond the normal boundaries of care to provide even the most lowly or destitute patient that little extra that can make all the difference in their medical care and their life. For his fellow docs, he often had a chuckle and an eye to the humorous side to the predicaments that constantly crop up.
Samy personified the word character. He projected the example of quiet confidence that translated into trust and showed what a doctor could be. He left the world a better place.

Dr. Samy was an example to all in medical imaging and healthcare overall. He was kind, caring and patient. I had the honor of working with Dr. Samy from 1992-2024. He taught me more about being a good human and healthcare worker than I can possibly recount. I learned so much from him and will remain forever thankful. May he rest in peace. Sending my condolences to those who loved him.

“Dr.Samy ” as some of us would call him will be remembered as an humble,soft spoken and kind person in addition to be an excellent doctor and radiologist. Always having an open door and happy to discuss images even when asked in the middle of his dictations.
The neurosurgery program could  have never been established without  his support.
I will be always grateful to him.

Dr. Rathinasamy was an amazing clinician whose work supported the residents of Prince William, Potomac Hospital and then Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center for many years. He was always willing to lend his time to staff and colleagues to discuss cases in order to improve patient care. He is sorely missed. Condolences to his family. Many thanks for sharing him with us for so many years.

Dr. Rathinasamy was one of my favorite colleagues while working at Potomac Hospital in the 1990's and 2000's. His clinical acumen was superb but what set him apart from most was his interest in discussing X-rays and cases with me until we could come to some radiological/clinical conclusion as to what was wrong with the patient.
Rather than try to get to the next study to further along his day he would stop what he was doing and allow me to sit down with him and review the clinical findings and how the patients X ray might reflect the patient's actual condition.
I always enjoyed coming to his office. He was always perfectly relaxed and after my visit I would feel that I had a much better understanding of the pathology that I was dealing with.
I would rank his as excellent and some one who should be a model
for all young Radiologists
I am very sorry to hear of his passing and wish his family my sincerest condolences.
