Pamela Janet (Browne) Miles, a devoted mother, loving grandmother, passionate missionary, and gifted artist, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, creativity, and service that touched lives around the world.
Pamela dedicated much of her life to missionary work. In East Africa, she and her husband, Corbin Isaac Miles, Jr., served communities in Tanzania with humility, courage, and compassion. Their years in the mission field were rich with meaning, challenge, and connection — a journey she later shared in her heartfelt memoir, There’s a Frog in My Toilet: A Missionary’s Adventure in Africa. Her writing captured both the beauty and unpredictability of cross-cultural service and inspired many to see God’s hand in every corner of life.
A talented artist, Pamela brought her creative soul into every space she touched. Her home was filled with her paintings and handmade pieces, each one an extension of her joy, warmth, and insight. She approached both her art and her relationships with the same generous heart and quiet strength.
Most of all, Pamela was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and Corbin raised four children — Todd, Chris, Lindsay, and Corbin Neal. She is preceded in death by her husband, Corbin Isaac Miles, Jr., and her sons Todd and Corbin Neal, all of whom she now joins in eternal rest. Pamela is survived by her children Chris and Lindsay; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a wide community of extended family, friends, fellow missionaries, and readers whose lives she touched deeply.
A memorial service will be held on June 14 at Summerville Baptist Church, with visitation at 10:00 AM and the service beginning at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA and a Celebration of Life gathering will follow on July 5 in Northern Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Healing Hands Clinic of Summerville at www.healinghands.clinic, honoring Pamela’s lifelong dedication to service, healing, and compassion.
Pamela lived with courage, grace, and deep purpose. Her legacy endures in the lives she shaped, the love she gave, and the light she leaves behind.
