Philip Altman

Phil was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 24, 1944 to Solis and Esther Altman. He graduated from Anacostia High School and worked as a budget analyst for the Department of Defense for 40 years. After retirement, Phil enjoyed golfing with his friends. One of his greatest achievements in golf was hitting a hole in one at Pohick Bay Golf Course.

Phil is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Evelyn Altman, brother Nathaniel “Norty” Altman and his beloved cats Bubbie and Mickey. He is survived by Beth, his wife of 29 years, sister Paula Altman and sister-in-law Eva Altman, niece and nephews Greg Altman, Brad (Lori) Altman, Traci Altman and Andrew (Paula) Altman, step children Melissa (Joe) Taylor, Matthew Roberts, Laura (Brian) Bednarski, grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.

Phil’s family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone on his medical team, with special thanks to Dr Gavora for nearly 40 years of dedicated and compassionate care.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 12:00 on Thursday October 16 at King David Memorial Gardens at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA with the Rabbi Jonathon Maltzman of Kol Shalom in Rockville MD officiating.
