All of us at Brown's Karate will always remember what an outstanding black belt Rae was.  She was always helpful to fellow students and she was a wonderful Instructor.  She will never be forgotten.

I will always remember Rae as an outstanding and beautiful person and an excellent martial artist!

Rae Legine’s passing has weighed heavy on me, even after almost a year. I did not know her very well, but we were Twitter and Instagram mutuals who interacted through “likes” and replies. We were not close by any means, but a memory that has stuck with me to this day was her unending kindness. I once posted that I’d gotten the game Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Rae Legine was the first to message me to exchange friend codes. I thought it was so sweet. Whenever I’d play on my Nintendo Switch and saw that she was online at the same time playing Animal Crossing, I felt a sense of comfort. Her presence impacted me positively and I will think about those little moments always. Rae Legine was taken from us too soon. My condolences to all their loved ones.  

Rae was an outstanding martial artist who started training at age 5 at Roberts' Karate and continued her training with Brown's Karate years later. She was one of the nicest people I have had the privilege of training and knowing. I have fond memories of training her, interacting with her, and celebrating her achievements. She will be missed greatly.

It was a very brief meeting yet memorable. A good soul gone too soon that shocked everyone of us. First meeting was when we visited San Diego for Lola Meling's birthday party and she approached us first to get to know us better and played with my then eldest baby. She performed and serenaded everyone at the party with her very calm and soulful voice. Years gone by and still we continued to keep in touch although very rare due to our busy lives, she impressed me with all her Korean skin care reviews and would give me tips on what good brands to try on for my skin type. She would message me for some recipes that I would bake during lockdown and an Animal Crossing enthusiast that made her play with my daughter who has a big age gap with her. What I admire the most was her humility, she would call me ate or big sister and respected me very well. Last time we spoke, was about my mental health issues that is on going in my life for a while, at that time she was finishing her PHD as therapist and she offered herself as someone I can talk with whenever I need help with my attacks. I will surely miss her posts on Instagram and her latest updates about her plants, cat and skin care. She showed me how to live a valuable life.  She was an amazing clever woman that will be remembered forever. I will miss your kindness. I couldn't tell my daughter as she will be very sad that her playmate is now an angel to her. May you rest in paradise.

Rae and I would meet every 6 years when she and her parents visit the Ph. But she and I became close when she was about 16. I knew she was something special because at that age, she was already mature - she found ways to reach out to us, her cousins, and goes out of her way to speak Tagalog because she had the desire to connect and have a sincere, solid relationship with us. Despite her relatively short vacations in the ph, what followed was a strong bond made through long virtual conversations, shared experiences,  heartaches and breakthroughs. I guess the most remarkable time I shared with Rae was during her last visit to Manila. Like real adults, we met at a coffee shop, we sat and talked for hours and all she spoke about was how she could share her blessings to her cousins and Nanay. On the surface level, that moment may not seem like a scene from a movie but what I saw was pure Love. A real kind person. Right in front of me. And how lucky I am, because that person is family. She is my Rae. And she is here in my heart. Forever. 

The loss that we share can never be replaced. That void will remain in our hearts until we meet again. We love you Rae and we miss you.

You had the biggest heart of anyone I know. You made me always feel like there was always something to love and fight for in life. Some of my best memories are when you would host events. Every time  you hosted you would make sure there was delicious food you took so much time and love to prepare. You would float around the room making sure everyone and the cats felt included and full. I loved eating meals with you and Noah, those will always be precious memories I keep close to my heart.  I'm going to miss you so much and love you. 

Rae Legine. We always crossed paths in college but it wasn’t until after it all that we grew closer and were able to finally hang out. I’ll never forget the feeling of warmth and home that I felt being with you. I was so impressed and in awe of your kindness and values. I’m so grateful we’ve met. 

Rae left such a strong and beautiful impact on my life. She was a source of light and love; a true joy to grow up with. I’ll love her forever and carry her in my heart. She was the most thoughtful human I’ve known. During my finals, she sent me care package, and made sure to clear her schedule to see me. I grew up with Rae, but we had different paths growing up. Despite that, she made time for me when I was in town. Years passed and countries apart, it was as if no time had gone by- we were two little girls again. Still full of love for one another. This is a friendship I’ll treasure and take with me for all time. She’ll be loved and cherished endlessly. I laminated the note she wrote for me with the care package she previously sent. I keep in my wallet.

Rae Legine, this is my favorite photo that I had ever taken of you. It reminds me how radiant and warm your smile, your laugh, and your presence were. I’m so happy that I go to know you in this lifetime. Thank you for being my friend. Mahal na mahal kita. 

Hello, Rae! I can still remember the first day we met, way back 2013. When I had a chance to meet all of you. We easily get along with each other like you're my baby sister. I can still  recall,  we used to walked in a park, while talking about  everything and laughed together. You also bought me a cookies using your own credit card. You also helped me to cope up and when I needed someone to talk to that time, you were always there texting  and cheering me up! Oh those memories, Rae.  Thank you.  I  still can't believe. Life is so unfair. You're still young 😭  Im crying rn.  Please watch over  us, esp. auntie, uncle and ate sue. Until we meet again, Rae. I love you, Ading. 🤗🙏

Rae Legine always overfed their friends and knew how to spice up a party with games or pranks. I will cherish every memory I have with them.

You were one of the most kind and genuine people I know. You constantly gave energy, time, and love to others. You made sure everyone was taken care of and happy. We all love you. You have changed my life irrevocably for the better and I thank you everyday for it. I would not be who I am today without you. Rest in Power. Love, Hale

When I was in college, Rae would come to my room and play around with my computer. There’s not much you that you can do with computers back then but she would play with the mouse and keyboard. And no matter how badly I needed to use my computer I could never ask her to leave because she would look up at me and give me a smile. I miss her smile but this picture definitely put a smile on my face.
