

He was born September 2, 1936 in Arkansas. In 1941, he and his family relocated to the Fresno area of California.
After graduating from Kerman Union High School in 1955, he joined the US Army. Stationed at Fort Ord, CA, El Paso, TX and Oxon Hill, MD.
In 1957, he met Barbara Reeves of Washington, DC and they married in March of 1958. They remained married until Barbara's death in 2013.
In 1959, he joined Tompkins Construction Company. In 1968, after graduating with two degrees from Columbia University, he joined Norair Engineering of Marlow Heights, MD as Chief Estimator. He remained there until 1980, when he founded Womack Estimating and Engineering, specializing in consulting and pre construction services to various companies on the east coast.
In 1990, he became Executive Vice President of HITT Contracting in Arlington, VA where he worked until he retired in 2009.
His hobbies included fishing, avid guitar playing and restoring classic cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde & Clara Womack, his beloved wife Barbara Reeves Womack, his mother in law Marie Reeves, and his sister in law Louise L. Cox.
Survived by his only child James K. Womack and his love Leslie B. Garber of Rockville, MD and longtime family friend and trusted business associate; Jeanne K. Simpson-Collins of Springfield, VA.
After residing in Virginia from 1957-2015, he spent his final years in Fort Worth and Brady, Texas.
He was interred in the family mausoleum in a private ceremony as per his request.
Donations may be made to the Heart of Texas Country Music Museum of Brady Texas, as he was a benefactor and remained involved until his death.
A long life well lived. He was still driving his beloved Lincoln and working on the computer the day he passed. Very active and vibrant right to the end.
