Robert Arthur Walkington of Falls Church, Virginia passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the age of 87. Robert was born on July 26, 1934 in San Jose, CA to Audrey D. Walkington and Douglas H. Walkington. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Meredith M. Walkington and step daughters Alison A. Senold and Jennefer I. Senold. After leaving the US Army in 1963, Robert attended college in Hawaii and California. He retired after a more than 30-year career of public service at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services in Washington, DC. Robert and Meredith spent many happy years of retirement in their beloved Truckee, CA before returning to the DC Metro area in 2014 to be closer to their family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Parkinson’s Foundation. A celebration of Robert’s life will be scheduled in Spring 2022.
