Sharon Giela Hadary

Sharon Giela Hadary, PhD, 82, beloved daughter of Doris and Gideon Hadary, sister to Susan, Joel, and Tamara, Aunt to many beloved nieces and nephews, friend and mentor to many passed away in Potomac, Maryland following a long illness on April 28, 2024. After a lengthy career at IBM and being the Founding Executive Director of the Center for Women's Business Research, she pioneered women's leadership in the workplace. The recipient of multiple awards and the author of numerous publications, her work transformed the horizon of what was possible for women. A private graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 2 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Classical WAMU, an organization Sharon valued. She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Joseph B Coyle, in 2005.
