Tednekyalesh Belay

Mrs. Tednekyalesh Belay, a daughter of Dejazmach Belay Kebede and Mrs. Tedla Yayehyirad and granddaughter of the honorable Wag-Shum Kebede Teferi, was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in year 1936. Mrs Belay, as most addressed her as “Denye”, grow up surrounded by loving brothers and sisters, as well as family members in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and attended her formal education at the American Missionary School in Gulele, Addis Ababa.

In 1961, Denye’s family handed her hand for marriage to her late husband Col. Tirusew Gebrehiwot and from this marriage she was blessed with two boys, three girls as well as eight grand and two great-grand kids. In the 1980’s due untimely death of her husband as well as unforeseen political turmoil to lead normal life or freely raise her kids in Ethiopia, Denye decided to send her children to the commonwealth of Canada so her children will grow up with better opportunities. Soon after her kid’s settlement in Canada, coupled with her motherly love and devotion, to be with her children, she then followed them to Canada and settled in Toronto, Ontario.

Once in Toronto, Canada, Denye continue helping her chidren adjust to the new life in Canada as well as helped teaching Ethiopian kids whose parents were newly immigrants by actively serving the Ethiopian Coptic Orthodox Churches of Toronto. In 1992, while in Canada, Denye accepted the Sacrament of the Holy Communion from the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and her devotion to godly life then led to her becoming “EMAHOY” in year 2012; for a life she dedicated herself to God.

Since then, EMAHOY Ehte Michael, further dedicated her life and spent time helping the needy at DEBRELIBANOS monastery, ENTOTO KIDANE MIHRET, the HIDDEN MONASTERIES IN LAKE TANA ETHIOPIA, as she also made several trips to blessed land of JERUSALEM to honor her faith.

On Tuesday December 15, 2020 EMAHOY Ehte Michael, after log battle to cancer, she has passed and left this world to her heavenly home.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is almost impossible to list all the goodness and godly work our mother has done or the life she dedicated for betterment of our life. Without a doubt and exaggeration, our mother has lived selfless and kind life. Kindly, as we remember our mother with such few words, we ask you all to pray with us so the good lord will bless her soul and she lives among the blessed in heaven.

ወይዘሮ ትደነቂያለሽ በላይ ከዋግሹም ከበደ ተፈሪ ልጅ ከደጃዝማች በላይ ከበደና ከእናታቸው ከወይዘሮ ተድላ ያየህይራድ እንደ ኢትዮጵያ አቆጣጠር በ፲፱፻፪፰ (1928) ዓመተ ምህረት በአዲስ አበባ ከተማ ተወለዱ። ወይዘሮ ትደነቂያለሽ በላይ እድሜአቸው ለትምህርት በደረሰ ጊዜ፡ ጉለሌ ከሚገኘው፡ የአሜሪካን ሚሽን ትምህርት ቤት ገብተው መደበኛ ትምህርታቸውን አጠናቀዋል።

ወይዘሮ ትደነቂያለሽ በላይ በ፲፱፻፭፬ (1954) ዓመተ ምህረትም፡ የህግ ባለቤታቸውን ኮሎኔል ጥሩሰው ገብረህይወትን አግበተው፡ የሁለት ወንዶች ልጆችና፣ የሶስት ሴቶች ልጆች እናት፤ የስምንት የልጅ ልጆች አያትና፡ የሁለት ልጆች ቅድምአያትነት ባለፀጋ ነበሩ።

ወይዘሮ ትደነቂያለሽ በላይ፥ ገና በልጅነት እድሜአቸው ባለቤታቸው ኮሎኔል ጥሩሰው ገብረህይወት ከዚህ ዓለም በሞት ሲለዯቸውና የኢትዮጵያ አገራችን የውስጥ ፖለቲካ ችግር ልጆች ለማሳደግ አስቸጋሪ በሆነበት ወቅት፡ ልጆቻቸው የተሻለ ህይወትን ያገኙ ዘንድ፣ መጀመሪያ ልጆቻቸውን ወደ ኮመንዌልዝ ኦፍ ካናዳ በመላክ፡ ቀጥሎም ሩህሩህ የእናት አንጀት አስገድዷቸው፤ ልጆቻቸውን ተከትለው እሳቸውም ወደ ካናዳ አቀኑ።

በሰሜን አሜሪካው የካናዳው ትልቋ ከተማ ቶሮንቶ ዖንታርዮ ውስጥ ከልጆቻቸውጋ ከተቀላቀሉም በኋላ፤ ቶሮንቶ ከተማ ውስጥ ነዋሪ የሆኑ የኢትዮጵያውያን ልጆችን በማስተማርና በመርዳት፣ የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተክርስቲያንን በማገልገል፣ ከዛም በ፲፱፻፹፬ (1984) ዓመተ ምህረት በስጋወደሙ ተወስነው ልጆቻቸውን በማሳደግና የህብረተሰባቸው አለኝታ በመሆን ኑሮአቸውን ቀጠሉ። በ፪፼፭ (2005) ዓመተ ምህረትም የምንኩስናን ክብር ተቀብለው፥ እማሆይ ትደነቂያለሽ((እማሆይ እሕተ ሚካኤል) ጊዜአቸውን በደብረሊባኖስ፣ እንጦጦ ኪዳነምህረትና፣ በጣና ሐይቅ ላይ የሚገኙትን ገዳማት በመርዳትና ከዛም አልፎ ወደ ቅድስት ሐገር እየሩሳሌም በመመላለስ፤ እምነታቸውን በፅኑነት ኣገልግለዋል።

እማሆይ ትደነቂያለሽ ((እማሆይ እሕተ ሚካኤል) ከቅርብ ጊዜ ወዲህ፤ ባደረባቸው ህመም ምክንያት፡ በህክምና ሲረዱ ቆይተው፤ ታህሳስ ፮ ቀን ፪፼፲፫ (2013) ዓመተ ምህረት ከዚህ ዓለም በሞት ተለይተውናል።

ክቡራትንና ክቡራን፥ የእናት ውለታዋ አንዲህ በቀላሉ ተገልፆ የማያልቅ ቢሆንም ቅሉ፤ የኛ እናት ልቧ ሩህሩህና ለልጆቿ ታዛዥ፣ ሁሉን እሺ ባይና፤ ለኛ ለልጆቿ ያላት ፍቅር የተለየ ነበር። ምንም እንኳን እናታችን እማሆይ ትደነቂያለሽ ባላት ፍቅርና ባደረገችልን እንክብካቤ መጠን ውለታዋን እንደምንፈልገው መጠን ለመክፈል ባንታደልም፤ ቸሩ አምላካችን ህይወቷን ከደጋጎቹ ተርታ በገነት ያኖርልን ዘንድ እንማፀናለን።
