On Saturday, June 11, 2011, THOMAS G. HAMP, age 69, passed peacefully in his sleep at a Fairfax, VA nursing facility. He was the devoted husband of Carolyn M. Hamp and loving father of Christina Ann Lovingood (David), (Dominic and Benjamin, grandsons), Michele Lynne Windsor (Michael), Deborah Maureen Bradley (Scott), (Tomas, grandson), and brothers, Michael (Donna), and Patrick (MaryJo), and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Tom was a retired 36-year employee of the Washington Gas Light Company, who in his free time golfed, bowled, and played softball. He enjoyed playing with his grandsons, serving his community, and helping neighbors and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA. We will celebrate his life at a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at noon at St. Michael Catholic Church, 7421 St. Michael’s Lane, Annandale, VA. Interment will follow at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, CapitalCaring or a charity of your choice.
