Toneri Honda Brown was born in Tokyo, Japan on Feb 4, 1950. Toneri, known to many here in the USA as Toni, was an artist at heart, an elegant, vibrant woman, with an enormous heart who left an indelible impression on everyone who met her. She loved her family and friends with unfailing generosity, and lived her life with the same dignity, curiosity, grit, and uncomplaining attitude, with which she faced her cancer diagnosis. Toneri embraced the Foreign Service life she lived in nine countries as the spouse of a Foreign Service Officer. Her sense of humor, love, creativity and generosity will forever be woven into the lives of others.
Toneri passed on Dec 31, 2025 after a 2-year battle with cancer. She is mourned by her husband Herbert R. Brown, their 3 children Toshiko, Tracy, and Takulo Brown, and her daughters-in-law Chantae and Fathiya. She is also survived by her 3 grandsons Talo, Kairo, and Trae.
"Those we love never truly leave us. There are things that death cannot touch."
