Wendall loved sports. While attending Eastern High School, he played football, basketball, and baseball. Upon graduation he was recruited by over 30 colleges and professional sports teams. His most cherished memory is of being asked to try out for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1949.
After high school he drove a truck for Dr. Pepper while he went to night school. Then he got a job with Western Electric. He continued to work there until he retired. While working at Western Electric he was President of the Pioneers, a volunteer organization and he was in charge of their United Way program for two years.
We wish to thank the community of Warrenton for their support of our parents and for Fauquier Hospital and Gainesville Health and Rehab Center and how they cared for our father.
