Passed away in Arlington, VA on September 2, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Terry) and beloved father of sons Scott of New York, NY and Michael of Castro Valley, CA. He was 78. Bill was retired from the Defense Intelligence Agency and especially enjoyed teaching his many students, including at the US Naval Academy, of which he was a graduate, Class of '62. He also served as Captain, USN Reserves (Ret.). He is survived by cherished daughter-in-law Josephine and adored grandchildren Samantha and Joshua, also of CA. Other survivors include mother-in-law Rose Sherer of Arlington and brother- and sister-in-law James and Bonnie Chapman of Randallstown, MD. Visitation will be Friday, September 11 between 7-9 pm at the National Memorial Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA. Services will be held 3 pm Saturday, September 12 at the adjacent National Memorial Park.
