Bagnasco, Kevin Robert, 65, of Long Beach, formerly of Plainview passed away on May 28, 2023. Treasured father of Connor (Samantha Walshak) and Alexandra and their mother Evelyn Witherspoon. Loving partner of Ellen Cervone. Dear brother of Thomas (Joanie), Christopher, Stephen, and the late Clarice Mathes. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Dedicated former owner of Avanti Furniture, Farmingdale. Past Rotarian President, Paul Harris Fellow, founding member of the Breakfast Club, and Former Treasurer to the Assistant Governor District #7255, for Farmingdale Rotary Club. Longtime Member of the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce. Former Treasurer and devoted member of the Gift of Life Foundation. Kevin was also very involved in the Ronald McDonald House Foundation for many years. He was a devout Catholic and prayed daily for his family and those in need. Proud Boston College Graduate. Kevin was known for his tremendous strength and lively spirit that he continuously upheld during his 8-year battle with prostate cancer. As a lifelong Rotarian, he was deeply passionate about making a positive impact on the world and helping others. He was larger-than-life itself, and you could count on his boisterous laugh to fill a room. He had throwing a party down to a science, and it was always his priority that everyone was having a good time. For any event, he would always run to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, where he would go to almost every store on the block to gather only the best ingredients for the perfect Italian spread. He had the ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone, and no matter where he went, someone always ended up knowing him and greeting him with a smile. He had a special way of lighting up a room and bringing people together. It was important to Kevin to have his family all together and to celebrate the little things in life. Kevin was spontaneous, forgiving, generous, and would always just “make things happen”. Christmas time was particularly special for Kevin & his family, where each year, he would take his nephews out to their annual “nephew steak dinner” and take Alexandra into Manhattan for festive Christmas Eve traditions. He was a true foodie and would travel just about anywhere for a good meal at a nice restaurant. Kevin loved traveling all over the world and found it important to bring his children along with him to share the experience. He also traveled to Haiti and Cambodia to volunteer with the Gift of Life Foundation. When Kevin wasn’t working or giving back to the world, you would normally find him at the beach, out on the green golfing with his son, going to designer show houses, taking a family road trip, gardening, or enjoying his occasional bourbon and cigar. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that the world is truly a better place because Kevin was in it. His unparalleled devotion to charity was the true representation of “Service Above Self”. Kevin touched many hearts throughout his life, and his memory will be cherished forever. The family will receive visitors Thursday, June 1st, 7-9 pm and Friday, June 2nd, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale. Funeral Mass Saturday, June 3rd, 10:45 am at St. Kilian RC Church. Interment following at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Old Westbury. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Kevin’s honor to the Gift of Life International; giftoflifeinternational.org.
