Schreiner, Louis G., 81, longtime resident of Levittown, born and raised in Brooklyn passed away on June 17, 2023. Beloved husband of 60 years to Rose. Loving father of Louis, Patricia and Werner (Pasqualina). Cherished grandfather of Kaitlynn. Retired decorated NYPD police officer. Throughout his 20 years in the NYPD, Louis worked in the 73rd precinct and the warrants squad of the 105th. He was Cop of the Year in 1976. He was a proud Army Veteran. Louis served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and in the 503rd and 504th Infantry Regiments. Louis was strong-willed, intelligent, opinionated on all subjects and most of all an engaging animated storyteller with cigarette in hand sharing stories from his time in the Military and NYPD that never failed to capture everyone's attention. Louis was a bibliophile, especially in the military genre and he was an avid collector of paratrooper memorabilia. He enjoyed fishing and watching police shows on television. Louis looked forward to the yearly NFL season, specifically his New York Jets and never got over the fact that his Brooklyn Dodgers left New York many decades ago. Inurnment with NYPD and Military honors will be held Tuesday, June 27th, 11 am at Long Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Louis’ memory to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW); VFW.org. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc.
