Dori Vaglio Edwards

DORI VAGLIO EDWARDS               FAYETTEVILLE – Dori Anna Bianco Edwards, 88, of Fayetteville passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.             Born on November 3, 1926 in Piedicavallo, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Destino Bianco “DB” Vaglio and Flora Ion Vaglio.             Dori was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish Church, Oak Hill.  She graduated from Fayetteville High School, attended WVU and Beckley College, and received her ABA Degree. She was a retired banker with 43 years of service at Fayetteville Federal Savings and Loans (now United Bank).             Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, George Matthew Edwards on August 5, 2014, and her sister, Lia Emila Vaglio.             Left to cherish her memory include her brother-in-law, James Edwards (Betty); four nephews: Phillip Edwards (Ann), Mike Edwards (Julie), Adam Edwards, and Ryan Edwards (Kate); two nieces: Jennie McNeal (Denis) and Linda Rains; several grand nieces and grand nephews; and a host of friends.             Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Parrish Church, 129 Elmore Street, Oak Hill, WV with Father Carlos Melocoton officiating.  Burial will follow at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.             The family will receive friends from 11 AM until service time at the church on Thursday.             In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dori Edwards’ memory may be made to The New River Humane Society, PO Box 955, Fayetteville, WV 25840.             For those wishing to express your condolences to the Edward’s family, you may do so by visiting our website at www.doddpaynehessfuneralhome.com.             Assisting with arrangements will be Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, 350 W. Maple Avenue, Fayetteville, WV.
