

EDWARD “JACK” WEBB FAYETTEVILLE - Edward Jackson “Jack” Webb, 91, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Beckley VA Medical Center following an extended illness. Born on March 9, 1923 at Eskdale, he was the son of the late Hazen Lathrope Webb and Florian Mae Scherer Webb. Jack served in the US Navy as a gunner mate during World War II. He was a retired boiler operator and supervisor for Union Carbide (Alloy Plant) at Alloy, WV. Jack was an avid guitar player and enjoyed playing music with friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma J. Webb; sons, Danny E. Webb and Edward Jackson Webb, Jr.; three sisters, Barbara Ann Naylor, Teresa Elizabeth Fowler, and Mary Alice Walker; and three brothers, Comer Oberton Webb, John “Doug” Webb, and Hazen “Ben” Webb. Left to cherish many memories is his grandchildren: Crystal and her husband Wilbert Lively, III. of Edmond and Luis Edward Webb of Durham, NC; five great-grandchildren: Brandon Lively, Ada Jae Lively, Claire Lively, Madelyne Webb, and Andrew Webb; and a host of other family and friends. To honor his wishes, Jack will be cremated with no services scheduled. Memorials may be made in his memory to Bluegrass Preservation Society, 94 Beech Street, Gassaway, WV 26624.
