Born on March 26, 1943; he was the son of the late Manuel Vernon and Martha Ann Ferrell. Richard was a faithful husband and loving dad. He proudly served his country as an E5 Sergeant in Germany from August 1964 until July 1967. He was a retired coal miner from Cannelton Coal Company, and he attended Sunday Road Baptist Church.
Waiting on him in heaven is his wife of 52 years, Carol; and a grandson, Austin Nathaniel Pittman.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Ricky Ferrell and Rhonda from Swisher, IA and daughter, Kellie Pittman and Mark of Fayetteville, WV. He has six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers, George Ferrell and Johnny Ferrell; and his sisters, Minnie Dean and Frances Sizemore.
Services will be held at Sunday Road Baptist Church in Hico with visitation at 1:00 P.M. and service at 2:00 P.M. followed by the burial at Huse Memorial Park.
A Celebration of Life dinner will be provided for friends and family at Sunday Road Baptist Church following the burial.
