Carl Leslie Pierre

Carl Leslie Pierre, aged 87, passed away in his Palm Coast home on September 5, 2024. Born June 12, 1937 in Trinidad and Tobago, Carl was a beloved and cherished figure. Endlessly devoted to his family, he will be remembered as a dedicated father and grandfather who selflessly and tirelessly prioritized his loved ones above all.

Carl was always a meticulous handyman–his early professional life began as a television technician at Planet Electronics in Richmond Hill, Queens. Later, he continued the skillful use of his hands as a Car Inspector and Maintainer for the MTA in New York. After many years of dedicated service, he retired to Palm Coast Florida, where he, his wife, and their family settled in a house they built.

Beyond his professional life, Carl had a rich personal life filled with various hobbies that reflected his many diverse interests and passions. He was an avid cook, and a painter with a particular fondness for Bob Ross’ The Joy of Painting. He loved road trips with his family, whether they were in a Buick or a red Dodge Caravan. He had a deep love for smooth jazz, which brought a soothing rhythm to his life, and the lives of those around him. In his later years, he could often be found methodically tending to his pool.

Carl leaves behind his loving wife, Vilma Pierre, and their sons, Tony Pierre (wife Gwen Pierre), Gary Pierre, and Nigel Pierre (wife Kimberlee Pierre). He was a proud Grandfather to Eyeshia Steward, Tony Pierre, Carl Bryce, Tanya Bryce, Tamika Pierre, Taneshia Pierre, Tatianna Ward, and Nia Pierre. He was a beloved great-grandfather to many, and a great-great-grandfather to one, who will all miss his guidance and love. Carl was preceded in death by his daughter Carolee Pierre, his grandson Tyshaun Pierre, his mother Corbin Smith, and father Ivan Pierre.

A memorial gathering for Carl will be held Friday, September 20, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM. Inurnment to follow the memorial service at Flagler Memorial Gardens.
