

Clare, a daughter of Patrick and Annie Duffy Cunningham, was born April 27, 1927 in New York City.
She grew up in Manhattan and after graduating high school, worked for AT&T. During WWII, she worked for the Arch Diocese of New York City. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and was a Jacksonville Jaguar fan. She also enjoyed bowling, stich work and was a member of the AM Guild at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband, of 52 years, Joseph Tuohy whom she married September 30, 1950, passed away January 11, 2003.
She leaves her six children, Patricia (Adam) Gronczewski of Forked River NJ; Clare (Ted) Surgan of Pembroke Pines FL; Eileen Golembieski of Pembroke Pines FL; Joseph (Anita) Tuohy of Columbia SC; Francis (Anna) Tuohy of Cape Coral FL; Andrew (Maria) Tuohy of Palm Coast FL; Seven grandchildren, Rory (Danielle) Gronczewski; David (Amy) Surgan, Joseph (Aleigh) Surgan, Daniel Surgan, Joseph (Jordan) Tuohy, Cassidy ( Eugene) Revzin, and Karina (Jarred) Tuohy. She also leaves behind seven grand-children. Clare also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Tuohy, her son-in-law, Edward Golembieski; two brothers, Edmund and Francis sister and a sister Anna Rita Grumme.
