

Doreen “Queen Doreen” Elizabeth Blessing, 90 of Palm Coast, FL, passed away on May 2, 2019 at the Flagler Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on October 2, 1928 in Barrow-in-Furness, England to the late James O’Brien and Sarah Elizabeth Harris (Renney). Doreen attended Barrow Girls Grammar School and later worked as a Tracer at Vickers Shipbuilding, Ltd. from 1944-1950. She was married to Albert A. Postlethwaite from 1949 until 1969. They moved to Toronto, Canada in 1953 and Immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1956 where they resided in Detroit, Michigan and environs. Doreen enjoyed a 30 year career as a Technical Illustrator with General Motors in Warren, Michigan. She was a long-time member of The
Commonwealth Club where she met many life-long friends. In 1991 she met the love of her life, Leo Blessing, and moved to Palm Coast, Florida. Doreen and Leo married in 1992 and spent 25 years together traveling extensively and spending time with family. Doreen was preceded in death by her husband Leo Blessing in 2017. Survivors include her daughters, Susan (Daniel) Ogden; Alane (Douglas) Meyer; grandchildren, Spencer (Danielle) Ogden, Elizabeth (Barry) Curtin, Timothy Ross Jr., Lindsey Ross and her fiancée John Beeler, Caroline Ross and her fiancée Michael Litchfield; Lauren (Fred) Price, Adrianne Meyer; greatgrandchildren, Finn Curtin, Reed Curtin and Oliver Ogden.
