

She was born December 4, 1942 in Faial, Acores Island, Portugal, a daughter of Manuel Furtado Carlos and Maria DosAnjos Dutra.
Mrs. DaSilva came to the United States in 1970 and resided in New Bedford, MA. She worked for many years as a seamstress, and an assembly worker retiring in 2014 and moved to Florida. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church; the Portuguese Rosary Society; and the Portuguese American Cultural Center #1156. Mrs. DaSilva was a loving mother who adored her family and friends and especially her grandchildren. She loved the beach, dancing, enjoying life, and lived her life fully with compassion, joy, kindness and love in her heart. She was truly a beautiful soul. She is now our angel who will forever live in our hearts.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leonildo DaSilva, whom she married September 29, 1966. Two daughters, Isabel Sousa and her husband James of Lincoln, RI., and Nini Silva and her partner Amy Black of Burrillville, RI; two sons, Carlos DaSilva and his wife Renee of Fairhaven, Mass., and Benjamin DeSousa of New Bedford, Mass. Seven grandchildren, Brendan DaSilva, Ashley Ambrose, Kaitlyn Duarte, Kyle Duarte, Ryan Duarte, Jason DeSousa, and Michael DeSousa. Three great-grandchildren, Syrel Rodrigues, Julian Daniel Pontes, and Emery Rose Pontes. Her siblings are Maria Dutra, Manuel Furtado, Cecilia DaSilva, Jose Carlos, Lourdes Dutra, Marilia Dutra and Carlos Dutra.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 25th at 1:00 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Rev. Sergio Santos officiating.
